Reality is Plastic: The Art of Impromptu Hypnosis red squares

Anthony Jacquin

Paperback: 100 pages

5/5

'Reality is Plastic' is essentially a book about entertaining with hypnosis in impromptu settings.

When this first arrived and I removed it from the Jiffy bag I was a little dissapointed - it seemed a little light at only 100 pages and for me had a distinct 'homemade' (spiral bound) feel. I was cheered a little when I opened it to find an unexpected CD rom.

HOWEVER I was deeply cheered when I actually read it - this little book is fantastic and I believe deserves a top rating. Heres why:

It teaches direct impromptu hypnosis in a way that is thorough, complete, and very simple to understand and put into practice. The book and the approach are simple, yet rich with subtle details that really get things moving quickly. It teaches clear sequencing and good protocol and is written in such a way as to instill confidence in what could come across as quite a daunting activity (performing impromptu hypnosis).

I bought this book as I come from an 'Ericksonian'/NLP based 'indirect' Hypnosis background and was looking to expand my range by integrating some more 'direct' methods into my work. This book has given me much of what I was looking for. The CD Rom is an excellent additional resource as it shows all of the techniques outlined in the book on mpg video format. This addition makes the whole package into a wonderful learning resource that I have referenced again and again.

The biggest bonus for me is that 'Reality is Plastic' has provided me with a format through which to demonstrate hypnosis 'on the fly' and in an intelligent and entertaining way outside of structured client sessions. This is of immense value as a promotional tool for my changework services!

To sum up - This book is simple, well written and I have learned a hell of a lot from it. I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in improving their hypnotic skills whether from a therapeutic or entertainment perspective.
